- Unsanitary Living Conditions - Dirty or soiled bedding and unclean living areas indicate the nursing home is not a clean and safe environment.
- Failing to Provide Medical Care - Neglecting to administer medication or failing to treat infections or injuries.
- Infections - Frequent or untreated infections may indicate the resident is not receiving proper medical attention and hygiene care.
- Mental Health Issues - Suddent changes in the behavior or mood of the resident such as anxiety, depression and withdrawal from social interactions.
These listed are just a sample of what a concerned relative should keep in mind in looking out for nursing home neglect.
